The Recognition of Foreign Vocational Education and Training (VET) Qualifications and Their Relevance to the Labor Market

Session Information

Germany and Norway have established recognition schemes for foreign vocational education and training (VET) qualifications. The presentation will show how the countries developed their methodology and evaluation practices in this area. Furthermore the speakers will give practical insights in the different practices of evaluating the content of VET qualifications. A key element in the recognition process of VET qualifications is the close link to the labour market. Tripartite cooperation structures and the involvement of professional chambers play a major role in this context. The session will also focus on the “end users” (companies, applicants, refuges) and their great benefits.
