Abstract Summary
The South African Qualifications Authority (SAQA) provides a foreign qualifications evaluation and advisory service. The organisation receives applications from asylum seekers and refugees. SAQA is conscious of the impact stringent documentation requirements have upon this group of clients namely, they may not be in a position to present the required qualification documents, etc. The verification of their documents may place them at undue risk, and systemic pressures to present documents may give rise to instances of fraud. The session will present the work done so far and engage with participants to learn of their experiences on this issue.
